Experience Behind the Course
Desirée brings decades of experience in hospitality, protocol and professional development to the classroom. Her career began in hospitality, where she worked in a variety of guest-facing roles and gained firsthand experience in customer service, professional interactions and the realities of serving the public.
Her passion for business etiquette grew throughout her protocol career. While teaching military protocol, she saw firsthand how understanding the unwritten rules of professional interaction could change the way people carried themselves, communicated and engaged with others. Knowing what to do—and why—builds confidence, and that confidence helps people communicate more effectively and move forward professionally.
Today, Desirée teaches business etiquette and professional development to audiences across corporate, hospitality, nonprofit, military and government environments, using curriculum from The Protocol School of Washington® and drawing on decades of real-world experience.
Her approach is practical and relatable. Etiquette isn't presented as a collection of rigid or outdated rules, but as a set of tools that helps people understand expectations, navigate professional environments and interact with others confidently—while still being themselves.
When you understand the unwritten rules, you can spend less time worrying about what you're supposed to do and more time focused on where you're trying to go.
