Experience Behind the Course

Desirée brings decades of real-world protocol experience to the classroom, having served as both a Protocol Officer and Protocol Chief in Active Duty, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard and civilian roles.

Her experience spans organizations and commands from the wing and O-6 level through four-star headquarters, supporting senior leaders, distinguished visitors, ceremonies and high-visibility events. While her protocol career is primarily Air Force-focused, her experience also includes Army and joint environments, including protocol experience at the combatant command level. She has also taught military protocol to Army National Guard professionals, bringing a broader perspective to the classroom than a single-service career alone.

Just as importantly, Desirée has experienced protocol from virtually every seat at the table—from project officer responsible for executing the details to Protocol Chief responsible for leading the program, advising senior leaders and developing protocol professionals.

That perspective shapes how she teaches. Rather than simply presenting rules and references, Desirée helps participants understand why protocol works the way it does, how to apply it in real-world situations and how to navigate the unexpected challenges that come with the job. She can relate to the brand-new additional-duty protocol officer just as easily as the experienced professional supporting senior leadership.

The result is practical, relatable training grounded in what it actually takes to do the job well.
